Dried Oleaster (Silverberries / Senjed), 200g to 2kg

Dried oleaster, the fruit of Elaeagnus angustifolia, is also known as silverberry, Russian olive or senjed. These small, reddish fruits have a thin skin and a soft, powdery flesh with a mild, sweet and slightly tangy flavour. Nut Fusion's oleaster comes from Afghanistan, where it grows in dry regions and is harvested and dried. In Persian tradition, senjed is one of the seven symbolic items on the Haft-sin table at Nowruz (New Year), where it represents love.
